Community Music School of Springfield, founded in 1983, is a non-profit community arts school in Western Massachusetts. Our mission is to provide an equitable and inclusive center of excellence in music education that empowers individuals, inspires creative passion, and promotes well-being in our greater community. We serve more than 2,000 students annually at our 127 State Street location and in our community partnership programs.
CMSS on VirtuLessons
Community Music School of Springfield offers private and semi-private music lessons for children, teens, and adults across a wide range of instruments and genres. Students are carefully matched with a teacher who will best meet their needs, and our registration team will gladly assist you in deciding whether to rent or purchase your instrument. Students at CMSS attend and participate in numerous recitals, master classes, and community performances throughout the year.
CMSS is currently closed to protect the health of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fall 2020 at CMSS will feature a hybrid program of remote and in-person music experiences.
